Curtis was born in Bronx NY. But grew up in Petersburg Va. Curtis went to Petersburg high school where he stood out in basketball. Curtis moved back to NYC and fell into the world of stunts. While doing Stunts Curtis realized he loved to write and act as well as do stunts so he started taking classes to hone his skills. He has quietly made his impact on the Acting side of things. Known for his recurring role in The award winning television show The Americans. His role in the box office hit The Accountant and more recently his role in the soon to be released Game Night. Curtis’ Star is rising fast.
Ricki Nelson

Ricki proudly works in the film industry. She has contributed to projects like The Summer I Turned Pretty (S1), Hightown (S3), Our Kind of People (S1), and Appendage (Hulu). Currently she serves as the full-time Executive Assistant to Tina Mabry, Director of The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat.
As the Executive Director and Founder of Black Creative’s Social Club, Ricki is dedicated to uniting Black creatives in film and content creation. Recently, she was accepted into the first film-making cohort for the Partners In Kind “The Beat Goes On” Impact Campaign, a documentary film-making initiative co-executive produced by Martin Luther King III, Andrea Waters King, and Mario Van Peebles, who is also the director. Her personal projects include the original web series, Acting Class, which is currently in post-production, and her video essay, I Am Not Your Black Girl, is beginning its festival run.
Additionally, she is an author, with her work published in Press Pause Press, Rigorous Vol. 1, SeaBreeze Magazine, Black Girl Poetry Scrapbook, and Z Publishing’s North Carolina’s Emerging Writers: An Anthology of Fiction and An Anthology of Nonfiction. Her debut poetry book, When the Black Girl Smiles, is set to release in 2024.
As the reigning Miss Black North Carolina USA, Ricki’s platform, “Don’t Wait, Just Be,” empowers Black women and girls to stop waiting on external validation and instead give themselves permission to be all that they are through the three pillars – Stand Up, Be Seen, and Be Kind.
Aqeel T. Ash-Shakoor

Aqeel Taahir Ash-Shakoor was born in Murfreesboro, NC. He is known for Law & Order: SVU Season 24 (NBC) Precinct Commander Inspector Borsits; FBI Season 5 (CBS) as Geoff, MTA Mechanic; Chicago Med Season 4 (NBC) as Shrapnel Man and Season 7 as FBI Agent Russo; The Staircase (HBO Max) as State Police 2; and A League of Their Own (Prime Original Series) as Pastor Donald Turner.
In 2022, in his first major industry big screen production, Aqeel played Frank, a construction worker with great concerns, in On Sacred Ground. In 2023, Aqeel will play James Farmer in the John Ridley directed Shirley, based on the life of Shirley Chisholm, played by Regina King.

Nick Basta holds an M.F.A. from the American Repertory Theatre at Harvard. After graduate school, Nick moved to NYC, where successes included recurring roles on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. A director, producer and screenwriter, Nick inspires local actors through his work at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington as professor of theatre.

Taylor Pettitt

Taylor Pettitt is a photographer and cosplayer based in North Carolina. She grew up in Northern Virginia and often travels along the East Coast for various photography and cosplay opportunities. Taylor began her professional photography journey in late 2018 when she started working for the online publication Concert Crap as a concert photographer. But now she covers a wide range of photography including weddings and portraits. Taylor started cosplaying in late 2022 and immediately dove into making her own cosplays from scratch! She made her Scarlet Witch cosplay, which won Best Individual Novice at her first craftsmanship competition at GalaxyCon Richmond this past March, and has also handcrafted cosplays for characters such as Barbie, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and Princess Peach, as well as added various DIY touches to other store bought costumes!
Brandon Hardison

Brandon has had the pleasure to square up to Michael Myers as the character Deputy Thomas in the 1978 flashbacks in Halloween Kills. Brandon was also brought back and worked on Halloween Ends as Deputy Thomas. Brandon has also worked on other shows like Under the Dome, Macgyver, The Walking Dead World Beyond and Season 7 through 10 of The Walking Dead as a Hilltop Guard, Whisperer, Walker and Savior in many episodes. You can also keep an eye open for Brandon in The Bondsman and the new season of Righteous Gemstones. Brandon is also a resident of Eastern North Carolina.
